Ten young people from Cross Keys Homes and City of Peterborough Academy, aged between 12 and 15, swapped dry land for the open sea. Here’s what happened.

Day 1

This boat is very fun but at the same time can be very rocky and kind of makes you dizzy.

The journey from Portsmouth to Cowes was very fun and we had amazing learning opportunities, such as setting a sail and how to set the boat up. Some things were very tricky, but we solved them using teamwork in a positive way.

Tyler: My highlight of the day was setting up the sail, such as clipping it to the mast so we could hoist it up later. I had help from another one of my crew mates and have already learnt the importance of teamwork.

Damien: My highlight of the day was when we left the harbour.

Jin: My highlight of the day was when I ate food.
