The Rolex Fastnet Race is a legendary 600-nautical-mile test of endurance. Navigating shifting winds, powerful tides, and intense night watches from Cowes to Cherbourg, it is universally recognised as one of the toughest and most prestigious races in the world.
But on a Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) campaign, you aren’t just a passenger – you are an essential part of a high-performance team with a profound charitable mission at its heart.

By taking your place as adult crew, you are also committing to fundraise to directly enable 16 young people, who otherwise wouldn’t have the financial or social opportunity, to stand alongside you on the start line of our two 72ft Challenger yachts. You will help mentor there young people as you step into an environment where prestigious ocean racing meets life-changing youth development.

There’s something magical about a Fastnet campaign with the Tall Ships Youth Trust. It’s not just the training, the sea survival courses or the qualifying races, it’s the journey you go on personally and as a group; it’s about watching amazing young people develop skills they never knew they had, push themselves and keep smiling. Bizarrely, it’s only on the sail home from the finish in Cherbourg that you realise just how special the opportunity to experience the race with young adults actually is, and if we could bottle that, the TSYT campaign would be full for the next 20 years!
