Please tell us a bit about yourself
Hello, I’m Lauren! I previously trained in Musical Theatre and spent five years working in the Performing Arts industry. During that time, I was lucky enough to travel to and perform in some amazing places such as the UAE and sing in some very cool venues, including Wembley Arena! After many having many amazing experiences singing and dancing, I decided I wanted to try something new and found myself back by the sea in my home city of Portsmouth. So far, I have loved stepping into this role at Tall Ships, there is nothing like working by the water!
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust
As Operations and Office Administrator I am processing voyage registrations, answering queries and completing behind the scenes paperwork. I’m working closely with the rest of the reservations team as point of contact for young people from initially booking on, all the way to their post-voyage feedback. You may also find me assisting the Business Support team with finance admin.
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Getting to join a Day Sail around the Solent was something I won’t be forgetting for a long time! It was amazing to get a taste of what the young people experience on a voyage, and I hope to have another opportunity to get out on the water soon.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Everyone working at Tall Ships is so passionate, there is constantly a buzz in the office with everyone coming together to get as many Young People out to sea as possible. It’s so lovely to be able to work with people who truly love what they do!
Please describe your job in three words
