This is not your average voyage blog.
Join this brilliant crew as they take on life at sea with teamwork, laughter, new experiences and a healthy amount of outrageous storytelling. From first sails to beach landings, every day brought a new adventure.

Day 1

We saw lots of dolphins and basking sharks. One of us even rode one!

Then the dolphins high-fived all of us before saving us from three twenty-foot basking sharks. Then, luckily, as we had our Yankee sail up, the engine failed and blew up, we lost half the boat and got sent to space. Then a huge fish unknown to science appeared — we called it the JAMAICAN FIUSHN, as it’s found in Jamaica — and it came with a new back half of a boat. We were so grateful that we chose to draw it on our flag.

And some boring stuff happened… so we then sailed to the Bermuda Triangle and got eaten by a KRAKEN, but a whale saved us and took us to Portsmouth. After we reached Portsmouth, we eventually reached Yarmouth (home of one-legged pirates) after 186 cruel hours. We got highjacked by the pirate captain Lebron Jamie Dodger. We beat him and ate him for dinner because our food supply had run out.

But we were all safe and had a good time on the first day.

Day 2

Today we left Yarmouth in the morning, woke up to cringey music, and had to latch everything on the deck. Elsa just wanted to sleep, not build a snowman. DON’T FORGET THE SAUSAGES. Then we drove away thanks to Frances’s skills, and then a shark bought us young carers a drink. THEN WE SLEPT THEN SLEPT THEN SLEPT. On the other hand, some people didn’t have a blessed day.

We threw a life ring in the sea and watched Jasper grab it out. We watched a football float away and dolphins dancing with their friends, then had chicken wraps and chucked drinks into the blue water. Everyone teamed up to put the sail up and then we finally arrived in Weymouth after five or more hours. And then we put the boat to sleep.

Then we chilled for a short while [20 minutes], and then we all jumped off the boat to get a nice yummy ice cream. We didn’t eat it though — the floor did! Then we walked over to the beach and the girls went on rides while the boys dug each other up in the sand. Then two girls went in the sea, got absolutely soaked, and got back to shore by dolphins. Then we headed back to the boat. Some people had showers, and after dinner we played a counting game. Everyone got into their pjs, did what they needed to do, and went to sleep ready for the next day.

Day 3

We woke up at 7:30 and the boys wanted to hear annoying music because they had missed out the previous day. Sadly, the skipper played good music until Josiah told him to put on bad music. We had the deck ready by 11:00 and we were on our way to Poole Quay. We were facing the wind so we decided to sail properly. The boat was tipping over so much — up to 720 degrees. Everyone threw up at least 5,000 times. Luckily, the JAMAICAN FIUSHN came to the rescue and saved everyone with sea sickness pills and bands. This time we dapped up the JAMAICAN FIUSHN as it swam off into the horizon.

Also, two people did climb the mast. We did quite a few tacks. In the end, today was definitely the best and most exciting day so far! This was also the day of our greatest breakfast so far: scrambled eggs on toast. People got called up for loads of jobs during the day including steering, reefing, hoisting and dropping sails, and tacking lots and lots of times.

Day 4

For breakfast we had some delicious pancakes with different toppings, from Nutella to lemon and sugar. We then departed Poole after setting up the boat. After a while we put the pole up and went pole climbing, and 5/6 of the crew had an amazing view after climbing with confidence. Some people even spotted the super-duper, ultra-rare, neon, rideable JAMAICAN FISH!?!?

We then had baked potatoes for lunch with beans and cheese, with some people eating on deck and some inside. Then we blew up the dinghy before getting to the beach. After much effort, we started the dinghy engine and went in groups of four to the beach. We then anchored so we could get to shore and paddled in the clear water. Just as we were heading back, a crewmate fell in the water, causing their life jacket to spring into action — and causing a lot of laughs across the crew.

We then departed the beach and tidied the boat as a group before docking at Cowes for the night. We also saw Challenger 1, which had people from Wiltshire! Then we had some scrumdidiliumptious fajitas made by the kitchen crew. Some people headed off for showers before going to bed after an epic day.
