Wiltshire Scouts join us on CH3 and CH1 for a week voyage. Follow their journey below.

Day 1

Sunday, 25 August

The adventure begins, after a cramped train journey we arrived in Portsmouth (just about). Then, we had very vital and important safety briefings which after our long tiring journey some of us had to try very hard to stay awake. Due to their importance, we are pleased to say we succeeded. After that, we got dripped out in our fresh 🔥waterproofs and cold 🥶 life jackets. Looking like sigmas, we cooked a scrumptious curry 🍛. James decided to take it upon himself to devour the remaining curry (good luck to Trystan and Ethan in the bunks below him💩☢☢🚽🧻☢☢☢). While starboard watch cooked up the dinner, port watch was preparing the boat for tomorrow’s sail. A big boat rocked up and stole our aura.

Hope you enjoyed our update.  bosh 😎

Day 2

Monday, 26 August

Breakfast, deck prep, up and away! But beforehand, various man overboard drills (Jo got eaten by a big blue Dorito) and Bengy (the dashing young man he is) straddled a strapping young blonde from the other boat (it was a dude). Proving their dominance the courageous Will and James swiftly hoisted the sails, meanwhile the shrimplings (aka Ethan and Tristan) watched from afar accepting their defeat. Had some great fun playing various alphabet games. Only one of us fell asleep on the way from Portsmouth to Lymington (the bear was getting his cat nap), where we arrived in the early evening. Whilst our watch cooked a lovely dinner of sausages & mash (the sausages were cooked to perfection) the other watch packed the boat away. Then it was time for showers, before some free time ashore. Some people decided to hunt for a local shop that was open to buy supplies, but unfortunately it ended in failure due to it being Bank Holiday Monday. Biscuit box status: dangerously low for only day 2 (might have to sacrifice Ethan to the biscuit gods).

Day 3

Tuesday, 27 August

What a day!!!!!! With an early start to Derek’s wake up song (hoist the colours). Sadly, it was not early enough to join Steve’s legendary aerobics class🧘‍♀️. We left Lymington at 7:30 once in the open water everyone went for breakfast (except Trystan who was at the helm) After breakfast both watches joined together to listen to some classic bangers🥳. Below deck was a hotspot for seasickness 🤢 whilst passing through the Needles. After lunch, the polar bear (Steve) awoke from his nap to find that there was no lunch for him🥪. In the afternoon the wind dropped, and everyone fell asleep, Trystan found a cosy spot in the Snake Pit while Katy was used as a pillow for the girls😴. After lowering the sails, a Chinook passed overhead and did a sky donut above us🚁🍩. When we arrived in port, Derek skilfully manoeuvred the boat into the tight space under the watchful eye of Skipper Paul. After tidying the Snake Pit and putting away the sails we hunted for a Tesco (we were starving from our travels). After we stumbled upon the rubber duck nest where we rescued (bought) four rubber ducks for the crew. We painstakingly made peas to go with our fish and chips. Then it was shower time, followed by an exciting inter watch quiz hosted by our lovely Watch Leader Kitty.

Hope you enjoyed another update … bosh😎

Day 4

Wednesday, 28 August

Salutations from Weymouth! `

To start today we ingested some slightly burnt bacon baps. After our intense dining sesh, we climbed the boats huge mast* towering ourselves over the other boats in the harbour (watching their tiny little worker ants pale in comparison to our extremely long mast*). Lunch was jacket potatoes which was devoured with gusto. Subsequently, we headed to the beach! We went swimming and dealt with a scrum in ocean, BOSH. In a call back to David and Goliath, James took it upon himself to absolutely hammer the living daylights out of Phoenix with a volleyball (it was an accident, and all was made up). Following the incident, we crushed the other team with our superior strength in beach Olympics, before all went downhill for knot tying and dinghy racing. Rigged. We showered and had a scrumptious dinner of chilli. The preparation was a bit stressful, as we had various chillis to make and could not decide on all the ingredients to go in it. After dinner we had some free time ashore and then it was lights out.

Sincerely, P.W.C.3

Out.

Cheers.
