Challenger 4 – Scottish Islands Exploration Voyage
We have a group of individuals aged 16-25 on board Challenger 4 this week. They are joining us for a four-night residential voyage from our Greenock Hub.
Check out their voyager blog to find out more.
Day 2
Tuesday 17
In the morning, we had scramble eggs at anchor and had a chat about charts. When we got going, there was very little wind and a rather hot engine put us slightly behind schedule.
We worked to hoist the Mainsail, something we all put our backs into! Throughout a steady day, we all took turns helming, hoisting and of course, making many cups of tea (a TSYT essential).
After lunch, we changed over the foresails in preparation for a rougher forecast tomorrow. Some of us went below to prepare dinner – a tasty beef curry.
We came into harbour, stowed everything away and went to eat. Thankfully, Tarbert Harbour had a very nice shower block, which we as a crew took full advantage of, for which we were hugely thankful for.
We spent the rest of the day, relaxing, planning and exploring Tarbert.
