Under the expert guidance of our skilled Skipper and crew, you’ll learn advanced sail handling techniques including trimming, tactical positioning, and high-pressure gybing. Gain in-depth coaching on racing rules, strategy, and racecourse management to sharpen your tactical edge.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll develop key mental strategies to maintain focus, manage stress, and read changing conditions effectively. Working alongside a diverse crew aged 14 to 25, you’ll share responsibilities and build strong teamwork skills, forging lasting friendships through this exciting challenge.

Our Challengers are 72ft ocean-going steel yachts, constructed to withstand the Southern Ocean. Launched in 2000, they raced round the world in two editions of the BT Global Challenge, the route taking them against prevailing winds and currents; this means that our Challengers are the perfect vessel for this type of voyage and will make it an exhilarating and memorable experience.

This course is especially valuable for anyone considering offshore racing events like the RORC Fastnet Race or the ARC. It’s an ideal opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and advanced sailing skills out on the water.
