Voyage highlights
Step aboard a 72-foot Challenger yacht for a thrilling long-weekend escape in one of the UK’s most famous sailing grounds.
Over three nights, you’ll explore the Solent’s ever-changing waters, picturesque harbours, and vibrant sailing towns.
No sailing experience is required to join this voyage as you’ll learn the ropes onboard with the expert guidance of our friendly and professional crew.
Expect to get hands-on with helming the boat, sail trimming, navigating, and working as part of a watch team. Life on board is your chance to swap the regular every day for sea spray, camaraderie, and lasting memories.
Our Challengers are 72ft ocean-going steel yachts built to take on the Southern Ocean. They are the perfect choice for an exhilarating and safe adventure. You will join a diverse crew of like-minded voyagers aged 18 to 80, working together to handle this powerful vessel and sharing in the unique camaraderie that life at sea brings.
Your voyage also makes a difference. By booking as an adult voyager, you are directly supporting Tall Ships Youth Trust’s mission to provide life-changing experiences for young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
All proceeds will directly support TSYT’s vital youth development work. Every mile you sail helps change a young life.
Your voyage may include stopovers along the South Coast such as Cowes, Yarmouth and Poole.
Throughout the long weekend, you’ll gain new sailing skills, a sense of achievement, and new connections with like-minded individuals you meet on board.
You will work with your crew in two watches to run the vessel. In these teams, you’ll take turns to be involved in all aspects of sailing the Challenger from hoisting and dropping the sails, to domestic tasks sharing the cooking and cleaning.
This is a great way to widen your sailing experience over a long weekend away.
And if all this isn’t enough… We want you to know, that our adult sailing experiences give you an exhilarating journey that directly enables more young people to benefit from our transformational youth development programme.
The Skipper will determine the final route depending on weather and other variables.
If you share our values and are keen to do more, you may be able to support our vital work further by joining the TSYT Volunteer Crew.
Your Skipper can recommend you for our Watch Leader training programme if they feel you have the skills and attributes that we’re looking for.
All meals on board are included.
