Day 1

23/3/2026 20:16

Today was the beginning, the beginning of the end of a great expedition. We sailed, froze, tacked and learnt to tie knots- more specifically CloveHitch and Bowline knots.

We discovered the strength of the tide and participated in the dramatic rescue of our beloved buoy who is now safely stored in his Buoy Box.

We learnt the basics of the lines; where they go, what they mean and how to use them. We were accompanied by the cheerful presence of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy while we practiced raising the sails 6 or 7 times. Invigorated by the frigid Arctic wind that carried us toward our destination we went below deck to prepare the breaking of our fast.

We had Fajitas. We were introduced to the Irish delicacy of Jai (Also known by the French as Jus) Or to the common English man as Juice, the end bits of the chicken and vegetables. The debrief was swift and full of joy, motivated by our need for sleep and rest. Until tomorrow good Blog, Fare Thee Well.
