Please tell us a bit about yourself
I’ve always lived in Portsmouth and have been at Tall Ships Youth Trust since 2009. I’ve been married for more than 30 years and have two grown-up sons and two lovely granddaughters.
I’m very family orientated and I’m fanatical about playing golf and watching football. I’m also in the Freemasons with Chas (but don’t tell anyone!).
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships
My role is the Finance Director and I report to the CEO.
It’s a very busy department covering finance, IT and HR with constant deadlines to meet.
I am responsible for financial accounting and annual reports, regulatory compliance and reporting, management/financial information, including budgeting and forecasting, cash and cashflow management.
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships?
There have been so many! But probably going out on a day sail with the staff and getting to know them better.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships?
All the staff are totally dedicated to providing the best experience possible for young people. That’s really true.
Please describe your job in three words
Challenging. Frenetic. Rewarding.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
Maybe could have been a footballer but they said I wasn’t tall enough though! Can you believe that?
