Please tell us a bit about yourself

I work part-time for Tall Ships Youth Trust and part-time as a kitesurfing instructor at my husband’s watersports school.

I spend most of my time outdoors or on the water, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, or running. I especially love sharing these activities with friends, encouraging each other to try new tricks, and generally being a bit silly along the way!

I’m particularly passionate about encouraging more girls to take part in what can often be male-dominated sports, so I especially love teaching girls how to kitesurf!!

Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust

I joined Tall Ships Youth Trust in September 2024 as a Trusts and Grants Fundraiser.

I research and apply to a wide range of trusts, foundations, and organisations to secure funding that supports young people’s bursaries and provides essential equipment for our vessels. I also report on how grants have been used and provide funders with meaningful updates on the impact of their support.

What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?

Every time I meet the young people we support, I’m blown away by the impact Tall Ships Youth Trust has had on their lives and the opportunities it’s opened up for them. Hearing their stories first-hand never fails to inspire me.

What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?

The voyages are genuinely life-changing. From opening young people’s eyes to new career paths, to helping them build confidence and resilience they can use every day, the ripple effect reaches far beyond the individual and to their families, teachers, friends, and wider communities.

Please describe your job in three words

Rewarding, motivating, purposeful.

If you were famous, what would you be famous for?

I’m definitely not famous for it, but if I could be, I’d choose to be known for jumping the highest while kitesurfing (higher than all the men!).
