We arrived early and introduced our selfs to each other we set of at 12:30 and were taught to rise all the sails on the boat. We had to pick up our fake man over board. We were given lots of jobs on the way and never bored. We all got a go helming and reached the isle of Wight, it was sunny and a good wind we sailed along the head land and came into Cowes harbour and saw the “green” funnel then mored behind challenger 4.

Today we woke up at 7:00, and have bacon butties at 8 followed by a plastic clean-up of Cowes beach, which was very successful (shown in photos) this was a very fun and exhilarating thing to do as it showed our  gratitude to the ocean and the nature on the isle of white. We started up the engine at 11 and prepared the sails with 2 reefs in the main and Yankee 2. We headed for Poole harbour while enjoying some pasties and beans on the way. The journey through the Needles was very rough because of the strong winds we faced heading  through, this made the boat sway a lot which made a lot of the crew dizzy and have mild headache’s but it calmed down as we started to come closer to shore. We arrived at 1630 and learnt how to act in emergencies that could possible occur on the ship and how me should react to them.

Today we started off with mast climbing after a normal wake up which took us up to 10:30, then we prepped the deck to go sailing. We set off and pottered around Poole harbour and getting everyone comfortable with helming, tacking and jibing. We then anchored for lunch in Studland Bay before we tidied up the boat and do a sweep through before we sat down for charts and collision regulations theory. We then chilled for a bit before we went for a night motor back through the needles (past) to Cowes. We had three teams of two where we had to find two buoys each and drink lots of tea J
