Day 1

Sunday, 13 October

My day has been amazing, I have learnt so many interesting things about sailing in yachts. I started off the day in my town Helensbrugh in Scotland and went on a 2-hour drive to Edinburgh airport. Once I got there my Mum and Sister Violet said goodbye and I was greeted by a smiling lady called Kim who the person was taking me and three other kids from Scotland down to Gunwharf quays.

Once here in Gunwharf Quays I was greeted by the TSYT crew who took us to the boat and showed us about the place. Soon after we started sailing to the Isle of Wight and were learning the ropes on how to sail.

After the fun we got to go shower whilst other people got to cook dinner. After dinner I was happy with the people I was with. I now have a new set of friends Elsa, Rachel, Yvaine and my bestie boo Renee. We washed the dishes and now I am texting into this blog before I go to bed. – Sorrel Wilde

My day was so good. I come to Isle of Wight from Portsmouth by the ship. We sailed it across the ocean and I put the sail up and down. It was so fun! I met some new friends called Sorrel, Elsa, and Rachel. Im so excited for the journey ahead. – Renee James

My day today has been superlative. We started at Poole and have successfully sailed to Yarmouth – where we will stay for the night. When sailing today we had a lot of waves but a good amount of wind which resulted in a great sail. We arrived at Yarmouth at 13:30, when we arrived we had lunch and biscuits (easily the best bit of the day). After this we helped 8 people climb the mast – which is a staggering 95ft.
