Day One

We arrived just after lunch at Portsmouth. We had our safety briefings and were sorted into Port and Starboard watches. We set off at 4 pm for Cowes and put up the Yankee sail. We arrived at 6:30 and the starboard watch prepared food, whilst the port watch tied the boat up. For dinner we had bangers and mash with carrots, onions and gravy. After food, the Port watch washed up. The starboard watch were shortly joined by the Port watch in the showers and we were ready for bed by 10 pm. We were asleep at 10:30.

Day Two

It was Codie’s Birthday! We woke up really early (7 am). We had cereal and fruit for breakfast. We cleaned below deck and got the deck ready for sailing. 10:30 am we set off. We sailed with 3 sails, the Yankee, the stay sail and the main sail. We went really fast. For lunch, the starboard watch cooked pies and beans. They were delicious. We arrived at Poole and we had birthday cake and Codie opened her presents. For dinner the port watch cooked chilli con carne with rice. It was really nice.

Day Three

For breakfast we ate bacon and bagels, although Sam thought the bacon was too fatty! We lifted anchor from Studland bay anchorage and hoisted the main sail and the Yankee one, the biggest. However the wind soon dropped so we decided to motor and drop the Yankee. We ate stuffed pasta with tomato sauce for lunch and arrived in Weymouth quite early – soon after lunch. After that we had lamb curry, and went on extended shore leave (a very exciting visit to Tesco).

Day Four

On Thursday we had cereal for breakfast, and left Weymouth at 9:30. We put all three sails up, and motored all the way to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. On the way we ate tomato soup for lunch, and extremely spicy jerk chicken (both on the move). We motored in after dark and identified all the flashing bouys.
