Day One

Today we were introduced to the ship, we were first briefed on safety and code of conduct, then shown around the different areas of the ship and how to operate the different machinery, we set off from Portsmouth heading to Cowes (aka. The isle of white). During the journey we got utterly soaked but we learned how to helm the boat, put up the sails, and sort the ropes out and how to tie fenders on, when we got Cowes, we moored up, put the sales down. For dinner we had sausage, mash and gravy.

Day Two

Today, we were still getting used to the ship and learning the ropes and the weather was pretty bad at the start of the day anyway but as it progressed the weather got better and it was quite windy so we could put the sails up and actually sailed rather than just the motor. We travelled from Cowes to Yarmouth it took about 3 and a half hours to get there. Throughout this we did multiple things by changing the sails so we could zig zag and make it to Yarmouth. Overall today was fantastic

And we look forward to doing more things tomorrow. Also tonight’s tea was tai green curry, it was very nice.

Day Three

Today was a really fun and exciting day. We all know what to do now so when we got to work, we all knew what to do. The best part of the day was when we were going over a certain point and the waves were huge and at some points when we would go back down our stomachs would go weird. It was a great experience and we got to learn life skills. It took about 5 hours to get to poole and when we docked we got a really good shore leave of about 2 and a half hours. Later that night the group got to chill on deck for a while and it was relaxing.

We are looking forward to our last day of sailing tomorrow and it will be really fun.
