今天是公元二零二四年的七月21日,也是我来到英国的第十六天同时已经和我们Terry船长、Hugo大副所相识的第三十二小时,在这将近一天半的时间里我和我的团队以及船长等一行人共同经历了许多。
今天凌晨五点三十分我准时被我们的队长pool从睡梦中叫了起来,我意识到我因该起床去换班了。我从我的睡袋中缓缓起身似乎在为我睡眠的结束所哀悼。但很快这样的状态就结束了因为甲板上的阳光徐徐的飘在我的脸庞上也让我意识到这是新的一天,很快甲板上传来的冷风令我我不经加速了我穿衣的速度。当我爬上甲板的那一刻我仿佛置身于另一个世界,刚刚经历过日出的太阳正在为这艘帆船注射着生命甚至连我都能感受到太阳的温度。当我把我的注意力逐渐往船头方向看去便发现了我们努力一晚的成果——根西岛。
我十分抱歉,因为当我写下这篇日志的时候已经是二十一点五十二分了,而我明天上午7点整就需要起床为整船的人做早饭,所以这篇日志就只能遗憾的收尾了
Today is July 21st, 2024. It is also the sixteenth day since I came to the UK. It has also been the thirty-second hour since I got to know our Captain Terry and First Officer Hugo. In this period of nearly a day and a half I have experienced a lot with my team, captain and other people.
Today at 5:30 in the morning, I was woken up from my sleep by our captain, and I realised that it was time for me to get up and change my shift. I slowly rose from my sleeping bag as if mourning the end of my sleep. But soon this state ended, because the sunshine on the deck slowly floated on my face, which also made me realise that it was a new day. Soon, the cold wind coming from the deck made me speed up and get dressed. speed. The moment I climbed onto the deck, I seemed to be in another world. The sun that had just experienced sunrise was injecting life into the sailboat. Even I could feel the temperature of the sun. As I gradually turned my attention towards the bow of the ship, I discovered the result of our night’s efforts – Guernsey Island.

昨天晚上以来的帆船航行与生活对我来说都是一个全新的体验。很开心能再次来到tall ships见到各位亲切且经验丰富的教练们。在一条72米的船上航行,各种设备都变大了很多,对我来说操作也变得更加困难,还好又了terry,paul等的帮助,整个过程是非常开心的。
昨晚的风浪虽然不大,夜航的体验非常独特,只靠海图和指南针航行更让我知道了提前做规划的重要性。非常开心skipper和watchleader都说我掌舵非常稳定,在这同时也在闲聊中获得了很多关于夜航的知识。但是不得不提到英吉利海峡的夜晚实在是寒冷,在寒风和晕船症状的双重挑战下,能坚持完成我们的航行任务让我感受到了满满的成就感,特别是在组员都因为身体原因不能坚持航行,我获得的责任和任务更多了,也学会了更多的东西,真的是非常充实的一天!
另外值得一提的是,船上的饼干和船长做的食物真的是非常好吃,让我在寒风中获得了久违的温暖。

Sailing and life since last night have been a new experience for me. I am very happy to come to tall ships again and meet all the friendly and experienced coaches. When sailing on a 72-meter boat, all the equipment has become much larger, and it has become more difficult for me to operate. Fortunately, with the help of Terry, Paul, etc., the whole process was very happy.
Although the wind and waves were not big last night, the experience of night sailing was very unique. Navigating with only a chart and compass made me understand the importance of planning in advance. I was very happy that both the skipper and the watchleader said that my steering was very stable, and I also gained a lot of knowledge about night sailing through the chat. But I have to mention that the nights in the English Channel are really cold. Under the dual challenges of cold wind and seasickness, I feel a full sense of accomplishment for being able to complete our sailing mission, especially when all the team members are suffering from physical reasons. I couldn’t insist on sailing. I got more responsibilities and tasks, and learned more things. It was really a very fulfilling day!
It is also worth mentioning that the biscuits on the boat and the food cooked by the captain were really delicious, which gave me the long-lost warmth in the cold wind.

凌晨时分,船外还下着蒙蒙的雨,一登上甲板,刺骨的冷风夹杂着细密的水雾铺面而来,使人一时难以呼吸。这是我第一次航行在夜幕下的大海,混沌的水雾围绕在船边,仿佛混沌初开。
夜晚的月亮是很亮的,这一点在这艘船上,得到了从未有过的确切的体验。最开始是莫名其妙的亮,明明没有照明设备,却能清晰的看清楚船头,船尾,以及四周翻滚的大海。随后云雾流转,一轮亮堂的月亮,从云外出现,越来越近,直到橙黄色的月亮仿佛一盏明灯,挂着船的左侧,在波浪翻滚着的大海上映出一道璀璨的银河。
而然,船上最令人难以忍受的,便是晕船带的的眩晕感,从最开始的晕头转向到后来一阵阵的恶心袭来,再拥挤的船舱中,这份眩晕感格外的致命,以至于轮到我们这组值班时,只剩2个人幸免于难。
当然,寒冷难熬的夜幕总是会迎来黎明,从船舱里出来时,太阳的光从身后闪耀而来,紧接着船便到岸了。

The moon is very bright at night, and I have never experienced this clearly on this ship. It was inexplicably bright at first. There was no lighting equipment, but I could clearly see the bow, stern, and the rolling sea all around. Then the clouds and mist moved, and a bright moon appeared from outside the clouds, getting closer and closer until the orange moon was like a bright light, hanging on the left side of the ship, reflecting a bright Milky Way on the rolling sea.
However, the most unbearable thing on the ship is the dizziness caused by seasickness. From the initial dizziness to the waves of nausea, in the crowded cabin, this dizziness is particularly fatal, so much so that When it was our group’s turn to be on duty, only two people survived.
Of course, the cold and uncomfortable night will always usher in dawn. When you come out of the cabin, the light of the sun shines from behind, and then the ship reaches the shore.

今天是二零二四年七月二十二日,也是我在challenger 3的第三天。对于我而言今天是一个比较充实的一天,因为基本一整天都呆在船上。我是今天早餐的leader,也就是说早上七点钟就爬起来去叫大家起床了,好在我和我的组员们赶在八点前完成了早饭。早饭结束后我们就开始了今天的航行,今天的风特别大这令我我非常的兴奋以至于中饭都多吃了几碗,在四个小时后我们成功的抵达了今天的目的地——根西岛。在抵达目的地之后也就快到了晚饭时间,而今天正好轮到我们组去做晚饭,今天的晚饭是意面,也是非常好吃吃完晚饭后我们就没有事情干了,于是就准备上岸洗澡而且还是用小艇一点一点划过去的。
总而言之,今天是一个非常充实的一天,也是我们正式航行的一天。

I am the breakfast leader today, which means I got up at seven o’clock in the morning to wake everyone up. Fortunately, my team members and I finished breakfast before eight o’clock. After breakfast, we started today’s sailing. The wind was very strong today, which made me so excited that I even had a few extra bowls for lunch. Four hours later, we successfully arrived at today’s destination – Gen. West Island. After arriving at the destination, it was almost dinner time, and today it was our group’s turn to make dinner. Today’s dinner was pasta, which was also very delicious. After dinner, we had nothing to do, so we prepared to go ashore to take a shower. And I still used a small boat to row across it bit by bit.
All in all, today was a very fulfilling day and our official day of sailing.

今天是登上challenger3的第三天,我们从alderney一路迎风跑到了Guernsey。早上的工作就是非常繁忙的,我们watchgroup要负责早餐的部分,整个晚上我都在担心会起晚了,还好最后有Micheal叫我起床,我们的早餐也完成的非常顺利。
航行前的准备工作非常繁琐,理绳子,拆帆袋,升主帆,完成这一大堆工作非常劳累,但是开始航行后的成就感又让我成就感满满!我们第一次在challenger3这样一条72米的船上开3面帆行驶,开出来非常惊人的速度,虽然不可避免的被浪打湿衣服和头发,但整个过程都是一个激动人心的体验。其中,我还有幸再次体验了掌舵的工作。在大风天中保持航向还是非常有难度的,我几次因为船的颠簸站不稳。一系列大风中的艰难工作后,我和朋友吹着海风枕着海浪在甲板上睡了个短短的午觉,十分惬意。
到达目的地后的整理过程,我爬上了主桅杆整理主帆,整个过程因为我够不到最顶端有点惊险,但上面的风景非常的棒。
Today is the third day on Challenger 3. We ran into the wind from Alderney all the way to Guernsey. The work in the morning was very busy. Our watchgroup was responsible for breakfast. I was worried about getting up late the whole night. Fortunately, Micheal finally woke me up and our breakfast was completed very smoothly.
The preparation work before sailing was very tedious, including arranging ropes, removing sail bags, and hoisting the mainsail. It was very tiring to complete this lot of work, but the sense of accomplishment after starting the sailing made me feel full of accomplishment! It was our first time to drive with three sails on a 72-meter boat like Challenger 3, and we drove at an amazing speed. Although our clothes and hair were inevitably wet by the waves, the whole process was an exciting experience. Among them, I was lucky enough to experience the work of being at the helm again. It is still very difficult to maintain the course in strong winds. I lost my balance several times due to the bumps of the boat. After a series of hard work in strong winds, my friend and I took a short nap on the deck with the sea breeze and waves, which was very comfortable.
After arriving at the destination, I climbed up the main mast to trim the main sail. The whole process was a bit thrilling because I couldn’t reach the top, but the scenery above was amazing.

I got seasick pills yesterday before bed I was actually feeling pretty well this morning but as soon as the waves got bigger I feel dizzy and I tried to sleep on the deck. I slept for like 1 or 2 hours and still feel seasick. Today I was mostly handling the ropes, which [I felt] pretty fine.

I never thought that the perfect day I was blessed with would come so suddenly when I was walking in the mist of the seaside avenue yesterday. I was not trapped by fatigue, seasickness, and unfamiliar skills. A ray of sunshine was about to break through the fog and greet a new day.
As expected, on the third morning of the voyage, we welcomed a whole day of freedom. As usual, we conducted a pre-arranged exercise in the morning, using cables to hang people on the mast to simulate emergency treatment. After the end, my limbs were numb and sore, and it seemed that it was another day surrounded by fatigue.
The waves in the port were calm and warm, and the morning time passed in a flash.
In the second hour of the afternoon, we disbanded after a brief arrangement and entered our own free time. Xiao Kong and I walked together and came to the corner of the seaside avenue, entered the town, and walked aimlessly in the alleys and streets. The old shop buildings, the conspicuous flowers everywhere on the streets, and the music festival performances in which the local people were enjoying all showed us the vitality of the young life of the old town. But we were exhausted, so we had to rush through the streets and walk forward to find a restaurant for a full meal. Finally, we had a simple meal in an inconspicuous alley, and our physical and mental fatigue seemed to have not been reduced by half. After the meal, we were tired and strolled through the streets and alleys of the harbour town, not knowing where our hearts were heading. Although we gained something in the streets of the residential area and visited the former residence and back garden of the French literary giant Victor Hugo. But after turning countless corners, we were still bored.
The corners seemed to be no different.
Perhaps out of a love of history or an idle thought, after going back to the seaside avenue, I proposed to Xiao Kong, who was travelling with me, the idea of visiting the seaside castle. We walked casually but eventually gave up because the tickets were too expensive. After continuing to move forward, we chose to embark on the return journey after watching the sailing training ground and the lighthouse.
We walked aimlessly, like a boat in the vast sea, not knowing where to go…
At this time, a fresh food market called Seafood & Meat appeared at the corner where we had not stopped before we set off, and it came into our sight. This is a seafood market opened in an old factory near the port. We thought it was an ordinary seaside restaurant at first, but fortunately, we were wrong. We gained a lot from it, and we feasted on the affordable and delicious seafood. Lobster, crab meat, shrimp, oysters, dancing taste buds temporarily took over the brain, and food and joy stimulated every nerve. I still want more, I still want more, I still want more…
The corner seems to be really different.
After the afternoon tour around the island, we ran to the seafood market again, hoping to find the last taste before closing. Fortunately, we successfully cleared out the last stock. This time we called our coach Alan, facing the sunset coastline, and enjoyed what may be the only affordable and satisfying seafood feast in this life next to an observation deck. Perfect food, perfect scenery, perfect companions, everything has become impeccable under the manipulation of fate. This may become the ultimate experience that I will never forget in my life.
Recalling the sailing for several days, the decisiveness when climbing the mast in the morning, and the reluctance when finding the way in the afternoon, it has become the footnote of the final beautiful memory. Perhaps in a certain year in the future, when I look at the expensive and rare seafood on the plate again, I will think of this sunset evening, the beam of sunlight that pierced the fog in the voyage.
Waiting is the art of silence in life. When you are not doing well or are plagued by disasters, please believe that the good luck that fate favours you may always be at the next intersection. The sun will eventually pierce the fog and guide you.

Today is July 23rd, my fourth day on the sailboat. We are still staying in Guernsey today. It is a very big island. Compared with the first day of sailing, I have become more accustomed to and knowledgeable about the waves and the wind during sailing. We will stay in Guernsey today. In order to train us for various extreme conditions that we may encounter in future sailing, Captain Terry and Coach Alan decided to use the sailboat to transport us to the top of the mast. Everyone can experience the feeling of repairing and looking out on the top of the sailboat. We kept lifting our teammates to the top with the sail ropes on the dock. When it was my turn, I was scared at first, but fortunately I successfully opened the footrest on the top of the mast, correctly performed the work that needed to be done, and also got a glimpse of the beautiful scenery of Guernsey. I hope that we can further improve our sailing skills in the next sailing activities to make our sailing life more colourful.

Today is our fourth day on Challenger 3, and the ship is still docked in Guernsey. This morning we were pulled to the top of the mast one by one. Before everything started, I thought it might be fun, but when I stood on the deck and looked at the top of the mast on the swaying ship, I felt a chill in my heart, so I decided to give up. The joy of surviving the disaster filled my heart.
We spent an afternoon exploring Guernsey, which made me very happy. We walked through the alleys of the city, had delicious food, except for a slightly expensive lunch, drank great milk tea, and enjoyed beautiful scenery. The sun was also very good today, so even if it cost an unusually large amount of pounds today, it was a worthwhile day.

Today, our group prepared breakfast. The captain and I had rolled the bacon last night and put it in the baking pan. In the morning, we only needed to bake it to have breakfast. The bread we prepared was also very simple – just tear the packaging bag open, cut it in the middle and put it in a bowl for them to brush butter on and eat. We made tea for the captain, but it was rejected. The captain personally demonstrated how to make tea with milk (although this thing tasted like domestic milk tea).
After breakfast, we decided to start climbing the mast. The process is actually very simple, just use the sail rope of the spinnaker to lift people up. I ran out of strength halfway up the climb, and my arm strength alone could not support me to climb to the top of the mast. I was nervous for a while, but only for a moment, because I found that the safety rope was strong enough. Although I didn’t believe in the physical strength of the person who lifted me up, I should believe in the combined strength of the rope, the winch and the four people holding me. The scenery at the top of the mast was very good. I spread my hands and enjoyed the feeling of being hung up. I used Minghao’s camera to take selfies on the top, without any photography skills at all! So the photos were very bad. My evaluation is that they are not as good as the selfies I took with my mobile phone. Sliding down was still smooth, but it was not like I thought it would be possible to slide down like a pole, and the rope was shaking and difficult to control. In short, it was still a worthwhile experience, mainly because of the beautiful harbour scenery. The last time I climbed the mast was purely to repair the side rigging, and rolled a few turns of tape to prevent the spinnaker from getting caught when changing sides.
The captain’s cooking is usually delicious, but it is definitely not to grill frozen fried fish. All of us gave up eating fried fish on the boat. After landing, Wenhao and I walked around like crazy and turned to a very remote but super cheap coffee shop. A cup of latte cost less than two pounds. We still ordered a portion of fries without eating fish. After afternoon tea, we started walking like crazy again, wandering around the residential area without any purpose. At the end, I was alone again. I walked too fast and no one could keep up with me. I really like this island. There are artists singing at every corner. Whenever the singing becomes distant and can no longer be heard, there will always be another beautiful woman playing the guitar singing. There are flowers on every street and every house. There is no very charming fragrance, but with the beautiful singing, I just feel relaxed and happy.
Finally, we reunited before boarding the bus to change islands, but soon we dispersed on the spot. Wenhao and I explored the castle on the coast, but we didn’t go in because the tickets were expensive. We walked back along the city wall. We didn’t have lunch. We passed by a very strange little shop. Even the door was still under renovation. It looked like it was selling fish. We went in to check it out. So I ate the freshest and cheapest lobster ever. It was really amazing to dip it in seafood sauce. We ate the seafood we bought on the bench at the bus station. We also bought oysters and a knife (to pry them open). It took me a few minutes to open the first one. Now I am a master at prying oysters. I can open one in a few seconds. It’s fresh enough and even has green seaweed on it. After eating in a hurry, I got on the bus to go around the island. In fact, we only drove one way. Finally, we stopped at a fish and chip shop and sat for a long time.
Finally, we decided to take the bus back to the port. The bus only gave me less than ten minutes to get to the vegetable market. They closed at 5:30 in the afternoon! I warmed up on the bus, but got off at the wrong stop. I got off one stop too early, but it wasn’t a big problem. I ran to the last stop faster than the bus. I successfully bought a lobster and crab two minutes before the gate closed. I ate seafood with big mouthfuls, looking at the beautiful harbour, the mast forest, and the people coming and going. Today was really perfect. In terms of food, this seafood meal is definitely in the top three in my mind. Crabs are too difficult to handle, but the price is there, I even thought I missed a zero. Back on the boat, I soaked fresh shrimp and fish noodles, seafood-flavored instant noodles from China, with fresh shrimp and crab meat, and a spoonful of seafood sauce at the end. This will be the most luxurious instant noodles I have ever eaten. I tried to ask the captain to help open the crab legs, but they were too hard to open, and the captain was powerless and could only throw them away. There is actually no regret today. I ate everything I should eat. In the evening, I rowed a boat back to the floating dock. Alan criticized my wrong boarding posture, although I always have different reasons to convince myself – I don’t want to get my shoes wet when I wear sneakers. But every time I think he is right, he deserves to be scolded, it’s good. But when I really teach trainees, I won’t wear sneakers on the motorboat. I think this problem is not a big deal, but I still need to pay attention. It is well known that I am impatient. Small details still need to be corrected. The engine on the boat was running before going to bed, which was very noisy. The captain said it was generating electricity and we used too much electricity. Go to bed at 11 o’clock.

We got up very early this morning, But no one had to make breakfast as we had skippers pancakes and then we went from island to island looking close, But there are 10 km during this time we did the MOB two times. We ate in the bay, That meal tastes like a Beijing chicken roll, mainly about the taste of that sauce and then we go to the island, The buildings over there were like the century and then we came back.

The penultimate day of my seven-day sailing trip, the same breakfast, the same deck preparing, but different MOB, this is the first time I have experienced Mob on the keel. After practising the MoB, we arrived at the last leg of the voyage in the afternoon, Sark island.

The day started with skippers Pancakes, we set sail and sailed into the distance, the island of our destination was very close, a corner of the sea was exposed, and the green island was lying horizontally at sea level, we arrived at the island in the midday sun while doing MOB training.
This is a primitive island, called Sark Island, most of the roads are dirt roads, some stones, but they all look somewhat old, the scenery on the island is very beautiful, there are some old shops, and churches, and I also bought some souvenirs.
In the evening, we sat back on the sailboat, which was the largest of us, and the boat was shaky, and we could see the waves crashing against the reef not far away, and then breaking apart. This is the end of a journey, maybe tonight will be a good dream, maybe not, but in any case, the next morning, we will set sail again and set sail on the return journey.
