Tenacity of Bolton – Exploration Voyage – Age 12-15 – KT110
A group of young people aged 12-15 joined us this half-term for a 5-day adventure on our ketch, Tenacity of Bolton. Read about their experience here!
Day 1
Monday 12 February
Today we sailed from Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth to Cowes in the Isle of Wight. Then we cooked dinner which looked bad but wasn’t horrible. We then went to bed.
Day 2
Tuesday 13 February
Today we sailed from Cowes in the Isle of Wight to Beaulieu, then we cooked lunch. After that we went for showers then cooked dinner and went to bed.
Day 3
Wednesday 14 February
Today we woke up at 7.15am which is pretty early if you ask me!
We set breakfast up and ate well, yum yum. We then set sail and it was raining and freezing cold even with waterproofs. It was quite straining pulling the boat in we then ate lunch which was pesto pasta and everyone rated it.
We then lost the ball buoy as it was crushed. We went up to the Hub in Portsmouth to take part in an activity led by members of the Royal Navy. It demonstrated teamwork and smart thinking which was pretty fun. There was a cocker spaniel called Charlie who was very sociable and got a few belly rubs from Giles.
We went to the shops and then cooked dinner which went a bit south at the start but tasted great and went to sleep.
