Please tell us a bit about yourself
I have been sailing since before I could tie my shoelaces. Unfortunately, my knots have not massively improved since then.
After discovering that boats were for me, I embarked on a quest to find a boat I could stand up inside! This, along with a love of teaching and sail training of course is what led me to Tall Ships Youth Trust, where I couldn’t be happier.
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust
As Mate and Fleet Bosun, I am always busy with something.
You may find me teaching navigation at the chart table or overseeing a sail hoist. I could be fixing a sink or playing a very intense game of UNO!
I love every second, no matter what I’m up to.
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?
I will always remember crashing through the waves in the Irish Sea and getting completely soaked when changing a sail. The crew all loved it and were laughing and singing throughout.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Do you think you’re too old or too young to sail with TSYT?
Well, think again!
If you’re still unsure after thinking again, I’m pleased to let you know that TSYT offers trips for those from age 12 all the way up to age 80!
Sailing is for everyone!
