Voyage highlights
This six-night voyage from Plymouth to Liverpool is open to all volunteers— whether you’re a Watch Assistant, Watch Leader, or a Mate.
Throughout the voyage you’ll cover approximately 500 nautical miles, making this a great opportunity to build up your sea miles and expand your sailing experience.
The journey from Plymouth will take you round Land’s End and north through the Irish Sea, concluding in the historic city of Liverpool.
*During the voyage, you’ll be able to complete various sections of the RYA Watch Leader course as time not needed for passage sailing can be used for theory-based training and training alongside.
Not only will this be a great opportunity to widen your sailing knowledge and experience, but you can also use this voyage to complete the residential component of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, if this applies to you.
**We’re offering this voyage at a price of £199, however we’ve received generous funding to support the further development of our young volunteers, so there is the opportunity to apply for a bursary to cover this cost.
To access this funding, you must:
- Have been previously recommended to come back as: Watch assistant/ Watch leader/ Mate with Tall Ships Youth Trust, and;
- Apply for a bursary
This voyage ends at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool on Friday 5 May. Challenger 4 will remain in the dock the following week for Eurovision-based festivities.
