Last weekend young crew from Challenger 3 finished their voyage on an unexpected note.
On the way back to the boat, the young people spotted a man in the water off Gunwharf Quays. With the assistance of a life ring they were able to pull the man out of the water and the relevant emergency services were alerted.
Following reports of the incident, it is apparent that the crew’s calmness to the situation and ability to work together as a team undoubtedly saved this man’s life.
We are incredibly proud to acknowledge the young people involved and to thank them for taking such an active role in saving someone’s life. They are a credit to themselves as well as the Trust.
