Join the Tall Ships Youth Trust for our most adventurous voyage ever offered in this age group.
Day 1 will include a safety briefing and meet and greet before beginning the 400 mile long cruise along the South Coast. You will then begin to learn basic sailing techniques and experience man over board practice.
Over the following days you will build your sailing knowledge whilst having fun and making friends. You will be involved with all aspects of sailing the yacht from looking after the boat to cooking and cleaning.
You will learn the fundamental aspects of sailing whilst working towards your RYA Competent Crew qualification. By the end of the voyage you will have learnt about personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to the level required to be a competent member of the crew. You will extend your sailing knowledge by experiencing watch systems and night sailing.
Depending on the weather, you may have the opportunity to stop along the coast and discover the creative buzz of Falmouth or the stunning natural beauty of the Scilly Isles. This route will be planned at the beginning of the week and reviewed each day depending on the weather conditions and time available.
There is a possibility you could be recommended to the Trust by the Skipper to come back and volunteer as a Watch Assistant or Watch Leader for future Tall Ships voyages.
Whilst every effort will be made to deliver the above voyage content sometimes, due to weather and crew’s ability, the content may need to change. Please see below for our full Conditions of Booking.
