What is a Bursary?
A Bursary is a donation of money from the Tall Ships Youth Trust which can be put towards the cost of your voyage.
Who can apply for a Bursary?
Anyone aged 12-25. As requested by our donors, we need to give priority to young people who are “disadvantaged” in one way or another and we need to provide evidence of this to them to account for how we’ve spent their money. You will, therefore have to fill out an application form.
What Bursaries are Available?
We offer a number of different bursaries across our youth voyages you will find a list of them noted here. Bursaries are awarded on a case by case basis, the maximum sum is noted in the attached.
How do I apply for a Bursary?
In the first instance, contact your nearest Tall Ships Volunteer Support Group or the Tall Ships Head Office. We can offer advice on what funding is available and how to apply for it. You will then need to fill out a bursary application form noted in the section below.
