Today we woke up early and prepared the boat and then we left Poole for Weymouth. The weather was very sunny but cold and windy so we all wrapped up warm for the journey. As soon as we were out of the harbour we put the sails up and set sail. The sea was rough but not as rough as yesterday. The sun was shinning down on us and the wind was blowing it was the perfect day for sailing. Although the weather was nice it didn’t stop people from beginning to feel sea sick. But those of us that were feeling fine began to start tacking which made the boat go on a rite mad one while people were doing that others were helming.
We arrived at Weymouth at around 4:15pm had showers and chilled while some of us prepared a chicken curry. Safe to say were all absolutely knackered but looking forward to our long evening sail back to Portsmouth tomorrow!

Today we woke up rather early, we left for Poole around about half past 10. Even though the weather wasn’t at its best we all was in rather good moods. As soon as we motored out the harbour we got the sails up and set sail. It was really windy and the water was choppy which added to the fun. We all had a go at helming which was really fun due to the rough weather which made quite a few waves to come over the side of the boat and soak us all, but by early afternoon the weather had started to clear up a bit and it ended up being quite a nice day.
When we arrived into Poole we where all really tired and hungry, the crew made sausage mash and beans for everyone. Then we went exploring around all the shops. By the time we arrived back at the boat at 10:30 pm we was all knackered and ready for bed. It was a really enjoyable day and I couldn’t wait to hit my bed.

Today we woke up left early, left Cowes around about half past ten. Before we left we had breakfast, prepared the deck and got all of the sails out onto the deck. We motored out of the harbour and started getting the sails up, we put the main sail up first and took it in turns to sweat the sail. The Yankee and the stay sail were up next but there wasn’t much wind and we were heading for Yarmouth at this point it was coming up to dinner. Port watch prepared dinner we had beans and two types of pie, one was chicken and one was steak. Whilst one team cleared up the other team went up on deck and learnt how to tack and jibe.
Then we learnt the steps for man over board using the horse shoe and down buoy during this time different people from different groups were learning how to steer the boat, it was awesome!
Shortly after that we pulled down all the sails and flaked the on the deck neatly into a bag, we also flaked the main sail and put the cover on. We then got the fenders out and prepared the deck to go to the Harbour in Yarmouth. We arrived and went to shore whilst other prepared food then gathered together for tea. After food some people went to explore whilst others went fishing. Now we are all chilling and getting ready for bed.

We left Swansea at 8.30am and travelled down to Portsmouth which took four long hours. We joined Challenger 4 at Gunwharf Quay and we looked around the boat and had a health & safety briefing. We prepared the boat for sailing; we had the opportunity to helm on the way to Cowes. The journey over was amazing and it wasn’t very bumpy as we motored over.
We moored the boat at East Cowes then Starboard Watch prepared tea which was chicken and vegetable fajitas, they were lush! After tea Port Watch cleaned away and washed the dishes. We had time to our selves and we went ashore for a look around in Cowes, there wasn’t much to do so we came back and played a few card games and then we all went to bed in our bunks. And had lovely nights sleep ready for the next day at sea.
