Challenger 3 – CF201

Day 3

We were stranded, and unable to sail because the wind was too powerful and the weather was not sailing conditions. We cleaned the boat and cooked lunch and dinner. We had a shower and had free time, to ourselves, the shops were nice and the town was busy.

We then came back and played cards and board games. Bryan and Theresa read while we were getting ready for bed. We had trouble getting to sleep and Mel and Paul were not pleased. We finally got to sleep and were woken up early in the morning for sailing, the conditions were perfect.

Day 2

Alarm went off at 5:30, Laura’s fault, Got up at about 6 and did make-up and hair, the mirrors are small, but we managed. We then set sail, from Poole at about 8ish.

We were sorting the ropes and sails to prepare for the voyage ahead. The journey took about eight hours and along the way lots were sick and went into the cabin, myself, Matti, and Jordan stayed out for six hours. Mel and the crew stayed out for the full eight hours and survived(!).

We had a nice dinner of curry and rice and t’was very, very nice :-) .

Today was definitely harder but more rewarding.

Day 1

Woke up in the morning, early in the morning. At the YOS by 8is where we were met by Melanie and Gareth who were taking us to the Tallships.

Got on the mini-bus and met all my friends. It was a long journey…

When we arrived at Poole we were shown onto Challenger 3 by the staff, Paul the skipper, Ollie the mate, Bryan and Theresa.

We were shown around the yacht and began to understand our way around. Our cabin beds were allocated.

We were allocated our waterproof equipment and our life jackets which were on out beds in number order.

Once this was done we started to prepare our food for tea, we cooked sausages, mash potato, carrots and gravy…

When this had been cooked and eaten we tidied up and were allowed free time to go for a shower and have a look around Poole, with Gareth and Melanie. We had to back at a certain time, which we all made sure we were.

Lights out at 10.30pm as we were having  a early start.
