Volunteer Crew
As a charity, we rely on the support and help of our Volunteer Crew on all of our voyages. They have all sailed with us as Voyage Crew and have been recommended by our Permanent Crew to come back and act as Watch Leaders, Deckhands, Assistant Cooks, Mates, First Aid Purser and even Skippers. All volunteers give up their spare time to join a voyage, and most contribute towards their food.
“It was a lifetimes wish to sail on a square rigged ship. Thank you to all the crew for making it extra special. Both the permanent and the volunteer crew were so organised and professional and every job or task was carried out or explained in a friendly enthusiastic way.” David

Becoming a Volunteer
If you want to become a Volunteer, you will need to join us on a voyage for 5 nights or more. This will give you the opportunity to become familiar with the vessel and how we work as an organisation. It also allows the Permanent Crew to see what you are capable of and hopefully by the end of the voyage you will be recommended by them to return as a Volunteer on your next trip!
